The workshop has been an integral part of papelote from the word go. Originally, when the workshop was really just a corner of a living room in a tenement flat in the Prague district of Vinohrady, it was where all of our stock was made. Then it moved to the back room of our store, a bit later still it started to share its workload with a printworks and a group of seamstresses from Lidice, as it could not cope with the scope of work on its own any more. Eventually it found its permanent home above the store and if you were to peek in, you would see nothing but stationery delicacies…
These days, the workshop focuses solely on limited collections of handmade, individually decorated items. One of the stalwarts is the upcycled range papelote take two, which is created every once in a while in order to give a new lease of life to leftover materials amassed during production.
